There are only three things you need to build cognition that does not drift.
Not bigger models.
Not faster hardware.
Not more data.
Three.
A reference world.
An instrument.
A measurement system.
Without all three, cognition eventually becomes narrative — and narrative, left unanchored, becomes fiction.
The Stanscope gave us the instrument.

This is true whether the system is silicon or biological.

Civilisations drift.
Not because they are weak.
Because they lack preserved anchor surfaces.
